Corrections Policy

Last updated July 9, 2026

Accuracy is the foundation of Varsity Draft. When we get something wrong — especially advice that could affect a young athlete's safety or a family's recruiting decisions — we correct it promptly and transparently. This policy explains how to report an error and how we handle it.

Reporting an error

If you believe we have published something inaccurate, email editor@varsitydraft.com with the article title or link, the specific point you believe is incorrect, and any supporting source. The more specific the detail, the faster we can review it — especially for safety-related content.

How we review

We review every good-faith correction request against primary sources — peer-reviewed research, governing-body documentation, and qualified expert input. If we confirm an error that affects meaning, we fix it and add a note to the article. If a request is unfounded, we will say so. We focus on substance over speed, but we move quickly on material errors — particularly those involving safety recommendations or recruiting timelines.

How we label changes

  • Correction. A factual error that affected the meaning of the guide or story. We fix it and note what changed.
  • Clarification. Language that was accurate but could be misread. We sharpen it and explain the change where helpful.
  • Update. New developments added to an evolving topic — such as updated safety guidelines, new NCAA rules, or revised equipment certifications — noted with the reason for the change.

Transparency

We do not quietly rewrite history. Material corrections are disclosed on the affected article so readers can see what changed and why. Minor typographical fixes that do not affect meaning may be made without a note.
